Connection Troubleshooting

Poor Connection or Session Drops
Live interview and practice sessions require a steady, continuous connection. If your sessions are dropping or experiencing severe latency, here is how to troubleshoot your network.
1. Switch to a Wired Connection
Wi-Fi signals can fluctuate, causing brief drops that interrupt real-time audio streams. If possible, plug directly into your router with an Ethernet cable for the most stable experience.
2. Move Closer to Your Router
If you must use Wi-Fi, ensure you are close to your router and that there are no thick walls or large metal objects blocking the signal.
3. Disable VPNs and Firewalls
Corporate networks and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) often restrict or slow down WebSocket connections used for real-time streaming.
- Turn off your VPN.
- If you are on a work or school network, try switching to a personal network or mobile hotspot.
4. Close Bandwidth-Heavy Applications
Ensure no other devices or applications on your network are consuming massive amounts of bandwidth (e.g., streaming 4K video, downloading large files, or running heavy torrents).
5. Check Your Internet Speed
Run a quick speed test (like fast.com or speedtest.net). You generally need at least a stable 5 Mbps connection for uninterrupted audio streaming.
Still dropping?
If you have a fast, stable connection without a VPN and sessions are still dropping repeatedly, please submit a technical support ticket so we can investigate our server logs.
