Resume Upload Failing
Having trouble uploading your resume? Here's how to fix the most common upload and parsing errors.
1. Supported File Formats
We only support PDF, DOCX (Microsoft Word), and TXT files.
- If you use Apple Pages, export your document as a PDF.
- If you use Google Docs, go to File > Download > PDF Document.
- We do not support image files (JPEG, PNG).
2. File Size Limits
The maximum allowed file size is 5MB.
- If your file is too large, it is likely due to high-resolution images or embedded graphics.
- Try removing unnecessary images or using a free online PDF compressor tool.
3. Parsing Errors (System can't read the text)
If your file uploads successfully but you get an error that the text couldn't be extracted:
- Scanned documents: Ensure your PDF is a text document, not a scanned image. You should be able to highlight and copy the text within the PDF.
- Complex layouts: Heavily formatted resumes with multiple columns, sidebars, or complex tables can confuse the text extractor. Try converting your resume to a simpler, single-column format.
- Password protection: Ensure your PDF is not password-protected or encrypted.
4. Try Another Format
If your PDF is failing to parse, try downloading your original document as a .docx (Word) file and uploading that instead.
